Volas-Redd Center for Education
Dear Friends,
Thank you for visiting the VRCE website. This center is located in Malava, Kenya and was constructed in honor of Dr. Gena Volas-Redd through donations from her patients, family and friends. To surprise her for her 40th birthday we collected donations and sent them to the orphanage in Malava where they have used the money to build a school building for 150 needy children. We felt that this was the perfect way to honor such an amazing doctor that has meant so much to so many.
As a result of our involvement with the Tumaini Center we recently took a medical team to Kenya to work with the people in the Malava community. The team treated nearly 1,400 patients during the one week project. We are planning to go back October 16-25, 2009. The funds being raised for this project are provided by the patients, friends, colleagues and family of Gena Volas-Redd, MD. Funds are received by the International Sports Federation, Inc. which is a non-profit organization designated under the IRS tax code as 501(c)3. All donations are potentially tax deductible.
